Regional Youth & Junior Championships

Ullswater Yacht Club

We are delighted to be organising this event again in 2025 in partnership with Ullswater Yacht Club.

Following the stonking (sorry, not sorry - we are quite proud of the 2024 event!) success of the event at Derwent Reservoir SC in June 2024, we are again planning a fantastic weekend of supportive, inclusive and competitive racing for all youth & junior sailors in the region.

There will be racing for; 

• Optimist

• RS Tera Sport

• RS Tera Pro

• Topper

• RS Feva

• ILCA4

• ILCA6

• 420

• 29er

• Handicap fleet (PY limits will apply)

​The intention is to have a range of racing formats - short course, class & a "mini" Birkett.

​

Activity & Racing will be mixed across the following 3 fleets

• Main Fleet

• Regatta Fleet (supported, coached racing for less experienced sailors)

• Rookie fleet  (a mix of water based fun, skill improvement and social sailing for our younger regional sailors)

 

On Shore there will be;

• Camping and motorhomes on site (sorry no caravans due to the UYC National Park permit)

• Saturday social

• Saturday evening demo sails, wing-foiling and SUP sessions.

We will need additional help from the region to deliver this event, the region has a wealth of skills and a bottomless well of support for Y&J sailing and together we can achieve another fantastic celebration and festival of regional Youth & Junior sailing.
